What's changed

AI rules in education, publishing, and funding change often. We review Usewright's guidance every month and list changes here.

Version 0.5 · October 2026

  • A "what goes in" check: Usewright now asks whether a task involves material that must not go into AI tools, such as manuscripts under review, reviewer reports, or participant data.
  • AI use statements can include the tool's version and your reason for using it, as many journals require.
  • Templates for research tasks, including peer review and responding to reviewers.
  • Self-service account deletion and space deletion.

Version 0.4 · October 2026

  • Project record with a dated AI use statement for a thesis or long project, and defense practice.
  • Oral check kit for instructors and a guide for students whose work is flagged by an AI detector.

Version 0.3 · October 2026

  • Protected skill, try first, "Question me", and a revisit one week later.
  • Policy levels, a warning when a plan goes beyond the policy, and personal spaces.

Version 0.2 · October 2026

  • Course, team, and research spaces, the safe-reflection commitment, explain-back, and AI use statements.
